Hello to all friends and well wishers,
Wishing you all a happy Dasara. Hope the Dasara went well.
You know the monsoon is bad. It's hardly gives chances for travel. Specially so we are going in 2wheelers. And it's really bad in monsoon. The drenching in rain is one thing. Another thing is the road conditions. Its pathetic.
But there is a silver line. Once the monsoon is over, it's the time to resume the travel. And just after the Dasara is 'the time'. Naturally we were looking out for places we can have a day out. And we got one called Pearl Valley. It's around 50 KM from Bangalore. It's near Tamil Nadu and Karnataka border, in a border city called Anekal. The local name is Muthyala Maduvu. Muthyala means the Perls and Maduvu means the valley. So Peal Valley at Anekal.
We decided to give it a shot. As usual we just love the roads of the Karnataka. Yeah - Bangalore is an exception. But typically the village roads are good. We went usual Hosur Road, and then take a diversion towards right near the Chandrapura market. In the way, we took breakfast in Koramangala. Then took ecity flyover (toll is rs: 20 for two wheelers). Reach straight to Chandrapura, take a right turn and straight to Anekal, another 12 km. Then asked locals about the Maduvu, and they pointed another 5 KM. That's it... the bliss is in front of us!
Some pictures before further talking non-sense:
Now some of the details:
There is an awesome hotel from Karnataka Tourism Dept called Mayura Nisarga. One can get a booking there. It's 1356 Rs per night. They have the food arrangement there as well. Pretty decent and good ambiance. Both types of veg and non-veg food available.
Yes - they have alcohol also. One can carry alcohol from outside too. No problem ;) One can peacefully sits near the dam or near the waterfalls and njoy .. none to disturb ;) Only there are plenty of monkeys around. So be little careful about your chips and all :) It could be lost. We ourselves found plenty of empty bottles around, means people do come there to enjoy their drinks. From the hotel itself, we avail beers and the cost is not any high than outside.
One can, of course, take a bath in the waterfalls. It's awesome. Just that there is no place to change. However one can simply come to the hotel, even if you did not book it, the stuffs are so cordial and warm that they would allow you to use their restroom to change. No issue. I really liked their cordiality.
Overall its a cool place to be in.
Best Regards,
